The Military Force of The Democratic People's Republic of North Korea
North Korea's military also known as the Korean's People's Army has been around since about the time that Kim Il-Sung, the first leader in the Kim dynasty, came to power. The KPA according to Background Note: North Korea has one of the biggest armies in the world with about 1.2 million active duty personnel, compared to about six hundred eighty thousand in the South Korean military(Background Note). This leaves South Korea at a disadvantage of about 2 to 1 if North Korea ever decided to attack. The same article goes on to say that North Korea may be spending up to as much as a quarter of GNP (Gross National Product) on their military (Background). The fact that North Korea is spending so much of its funds on military expenses instead of things such as agriculture is extremely dystopian.
